To misquote a phrase attributed to Bill Gates, we overestimate what we can accomplish in a day and underestimate what we can accomplish in a month.
That was certainly the case in April for this event. There's so much to do but the progress has been steady and heartening.
I’ve been in contact with some amazing expert speakers and I can’t wait to unveil them to the world very shortly! They represent some of Toronto’s best minds in transportation, public spaces, police policy and urban planning.
When it’s unveiled, there will still be one or two spots open for speakers or a panel. There’s been a lot of interest in the affordable housing topic, and I still have a few dream speakers on my list… expect a surprise.
I’ve been reaching out to several non-profit organizations and media outlets for partnerships. They will help spread the word about the event and they might participate in other ways. Expect to see those logos appear on the website in the next week or two. If you want to be a partner and promote your organization, get in touch.
I’ve been in contact with at least one of the advisors every week getting their feedback on many aspects of the event. It’s a busy time for these civically minded people, preparing for two elections and of course dealing with their respective life and jobs. I can’t thank them enough for their support so far.
You can now register for Central! That’s important. There’s a limited number of tickets available for $40 and I expect those will sell quickly once the speakers are revealed. Why chance it? Get one now.
There is now less than three months to the event! It’s a very exciting time.
