Making Cities Flourish

4:00 pm
4:30 pm

We are embarking on a historic moment for cities in Canada — a moment of transformative change full of new ideas, new technologies and new opportunities.

A large part of seeing that transformation come to life requires reimagining our cities.

More than 80 per cent of Canadians call cities home, and while Canadian cities are regularly found among the top lists for livability, innovation and eco-friendly policies, they’re also facing unprecedented challenges.

Our cities are at the forefront of two of the most pressing issues of our time: climate change and inequality.

We know we cannot continue to build cities the way we’ve been doing so. We need to imagine where our cities will need to be 10, 20 or 50 years from now to ensure they are, and continue to be, inclusive, sustainable and low-carbon.
